The First

1)  The Final Four - Although I favor upsets in the tournament, I believe this year's final four is much more intriguing.  Many of you already know the storylines and facts so I will jump straight to my predictions.  North Carolina and Memphis in the championship, with North Carolina winning it all.

2)  The Masters - Next week marks the beginning of one of my favorite weekends in sports.  Tiger Woods will win this tournament.  And believe me when I say he will win the next three Majors as well.  Most of the players have the mindset -- "I am playing for number two" -- so deep in their concience that they might as well get it stamped on their forehead so it is clear for everyone else.  Maybe the PGA will consider making the second place payout equivalent to first and let Tiger's earnings start collecting interest.

3)  NBA's Western Conference - Only three games separate the top six teams and the frontrunner is less than eight games from watching the playoffs on their leather couch.  Consider this as well -- there are two weeks left in the season and no team has clinched a playoff birth.  A dynasty parallel to the Chicago Bulls championship years usually makes a sport intriguing (i.e. Yankees, Patriots, Tiger Woods etc.).  But perhaps the current type of parity is just what the NBA needs.  I am not an NBA fan, but I know I will watch the playoffs in their entirety, if not just to see the West eventually crush the East into oblivion.

About Three Thoughts
Three is my favorite number, and I admire brevity in writing. So this blog will provide three simple thoughts on sports topics of my choosing. Your own thoughts are welcome here. Go Vols!
